Bio

Jen Ashburn is the author of the full-length poetry collection The Light on the Wall (Main Street Rag) and has work published in numerous venues, including The Fiddlehead, The Writer’s Almanac, and Mud Season Review. She is the recipient of the 2023 Lori White Non-Fiction Fellowship and has been nominated for several Pushcart Prizes. She holds an MFA from Chatham University and is a proud member of the Madwomen in the Attic writing workshops. She currently teaches creative writing and first-year composition at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she lives with her husband, writer Jason Irwin. When they’re not scribbling in their notebooks, you might find them cavorting with invisible gnomes (Jason) or tending their hydroponic herb gardens (Jen).
